BEFORE ORIENTATION

Before you can fully immerse yourself, there are some essential first steps you need to follow to become a full-fledged member of our unit. These steps ensure that you're integrated seamlessly into our community.

1. Join the Discord Server:

The heart of our operations lies within our Discord server. To begin your journey, join our Discord community by clicking the provided invitation link. This is where you'll connect with fellow members, receive updates, and stay informed about our events and activities.

2. Recruitment Process:

Once you've joined our Discord server, you'll be guided through our recruitment process. Our dedicated auxiliary staff will assist you in this phase. It is a quick process that lets us gauge your capabilities and note your progress.

3. Become a Conscript:

After the recruitment process, you will attain the rank of Conscript. As a Conscript, you'll be ready to participate in our operations and events, wearing the XI armor.

Only after completing these initial steps, you may return to our website to continue your orientation and access further information about our unit and your role within XI.

ORIENTATION

Orientation provides newcomers with the fundamental knowledge and understanding of the unit's values, rules, and expectations. This common foundation ensures that all members, both new and existing, are on the same page, which fosters a sense of unity and minimizes misunderstandings.

Potential new members (PNMs) often feel like outsiders in a pre-established community. This process will give you the opportunity to become familiar with the group's dynamics, leadership, and the existing members. As you gain knowledge and interact with others during orientation, they will begin to build trust and confidence, reducing any feelings of apprehension or isolation.

This process helps to instill a sense of pride and belonging in new members, encouraging you and others to align with the community's identity and goals. It's not just about introducing you to the group but also making you feel a part of something bigger.

Phase One (1)

Phase One is about becoming acclimated, learning the ropes, and preparing for future challenges. We offer two distinct avenues for you to complete this phase: one through our Sunday operations and the other through our highly recommended Basic Combat Training (BCT). Each avenue is tailored to accommodate your level of experience and expertise, making sure you have the foundation you need to excel within our ranks.

Phase Two (2)

Phase Two is about giving you the opportunity to select a section that aligns with your interests, skills, and playstyle. At XI, PNMs will run operations with a section they are assigned to or choose to based on availability. On the Discord server, you will be able to find "#▢︱section interest" which allows you to coordinate with section leadership on your future home in XI.

At this point, you may also want to consider earning certifications. Certifications will broaden your playability and versatility in your section.

Phase Three (3)

Phase Three is where you will solidify your place in our community by demonstrating your integration, commitment, and compatibility with your chosen section. The end goal is to become an official member of the section and earn the trust and support of your fellow members through vouches or consistent activity.

1. Demonstrating Integration:

Active involvement in operations, training sessions, and community events is a fundamental requirement. Regular participation helps you integrate into the community and establish your presence. Displaying teamwork and camaraderie is vital. Building positive relationships with your section members and others in the community is key to proving your commitment.

2. Vouches and Recommendations:

Earning the vouches of your section lead and fellow section members is a significant milestone. These vouches demonstrate your dedication and your compatibility with the section's goals and values.

3. Unofficial Membership:

If you already joined a section, you should now pursue the necessary section processes to become an official member of your chosen section--if they exist.

4. Community Involvement:

Demonstrating your commitment to the community extends beyond your section. Active participation in community-wide activities and events is a positive sign of your dedication to XI.

5. Initiation:

Once you have demonstrated integration, received vouches or recommendations from your section, and achieved any required certifications, you'll be initiated as an official member of your chosen section.

6. Ongoing Development:

Your journey doesn't end with initiation. Continue to develop your skills, contribute to your section, and actively participate in the community to grow both as an individual and as a member of XI.

7. Leadership Opportunities:

If you have aspirations for leadership roles within your section or the community as a whole, express your interest and work towards your goals. XI values and encourages growth from within its ranks.

With Phase Three complete, you will have reached reaching the culmination of your Orientation.

PNMs are observed by designated Community Safety and Risk Management Officers in all unofficial and official capacities in XI.
